The Speed Test is embedded into the top of this website using Javascript, and should be visible with modern browsers such as Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, or Edge. If you do not have any service at your household or workplace, you can enter that address with “NO SERVICE AVAILABLE” into the test while using a local hot spot or using a cellular device. We still want to hear from you! We also need to know where service is unavailable in our region. Read more about the Digital Inclusion Initiative. ROI’s Digital Inclusion Initiative is intended to help identify the information necessary for counties, communities, and the region to accelerate efforts to achieve the digital resources, sometimes referred to as digital capital, necessary for regional prosperity and economic competitiveness. ROI’s speed test project is part of a larger regional Digital Inclusion Initiative launched in November 2020 to advance broadband and connectivity across the Indiana Uplands. Speeds and geographic information will be used to generate mapping tools for communities that are planning broadband expansion projects or to help organizations pursue grants to support infrastructure improvements. The goal of this project is to create an accurate region map of where internet service is available, where it is unavailable, and what broadband speed residents are currently receiving. More data = more insights! Why Are We Doing This? By submitting more tests, you will provide more data. You can repeat the test many times and at different times of the day. You will see download, upload, and latency, and ping speeds. The speed test can be completed using any device that has an internet or cellular connection and takes less than one minute to complete. A speed test is a way to measure the speed between your device and a server in real-time using your internet connection.
