Waves of robots appear, and you punch, flying-kick and chuck basketballs at them across four levels. Coyote and Tasmanian Devil, which give you killer benefits at the touch of the Y button (think Streets of Rage’s super attacks). Then you’re choosing ‘cards’, fronted by Looney Tunes characters like Wile E. You can bring along two friends as you choose from three characters – LeBron James, Bugs Bunny and Lola Bunny. When the movie is about becoming a transmedia superhero, a tie-in video game makes a fractured kind of sense. After all, this is based on a movie that feels like you’re watching a multimedia branding exercise rather than a film, as LeBron James and his son wander through various Warner Bros IP, like Game of Thrones, Harry Potter and The Matrix. Space Jam: A New Legacy makes for a more suitable game than Doritos ever did, so we’ll give it that. Just like Doritos Crash Course, no one expected it to be any good, but it’s not bad at all, barely offers an hour of play, and you’ll delete it from your hard drive before you can say “What’s Up Doc?”. It would launch with the movie and be made available for free. What we have here is the result of a competition, launched in December 2020 (note that swift turnaround), to submit a design for a game that would tie-in with Space Jam: A New Legacy. Classic mode and remastered. We’re getting a severe state of deja vu, as almost everything we’ve written above could be find-replaced with Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game. It would be looking at a much higher review if it did what HALO CE did. And is it worth £6.50 in MSP for that? Seriously just play the trial. But after that you will, no doubt get bored. The reason why this game gets a 5/10, is because it is really good fun/nostalgia for the first 30 minutes- 1 hour. Could be done in 2-5 hours, depending on skill. Achievements 7/10 a fairly easy 200 points and makes you do a variety of objectives. Trust me after about 4 playthroughs you will never touch this again. I would recommend playing the trial, as you will probably get all the nostalgia you'll need. 400 MSP would be a more justified price as it is not that much bigger or more complex, then the games 'Gameroom' provides. Should it? Actually it does, as your paying 800 MSP for a arcade game. The pre-release of the arcade classic, which was showing its age in 1991 is BACK! Of course the graphics and gameplay are awful, but you should already know that, so it shouldn't have anything to do with the overall score. this makes the game INCREDIBLY easy and there isn't any adversity to overcome! overall it's a classic beat em' up and I enjoy playing it alone or with friends. you only press start so you have unlimited lives. In the arcade, you put in quarters and that was your extra lives but, at home. However, this is my problem with arcade ports: the life system is broken beyond reapir. the controls are just like in the arcade wich works really well surprisingly. the graphics are timeless and the sound jumps out and in sometimes but overall, not bad. Once again they almost butchered z good arcade game. This game reminds me of times when I used to sit infront of an arcade console and wasted hundreds of quarters on the same level!
